Bird Architects Live CD finished

The long awaited live album from punk-jazz innovators The Bird Architects, "Hotel for the Birds" has been completed and now awaits final artwork approval before dulpication and distribution.

Initially recorded digitally direct to hard drive live at the Royal Seven Stars Hotel, Totnes last May, the recording has been edited, mixed and mastered at Andersonshelta throughout Nov-Dec 2004 and the final version of the audio is now ready for it's artwork package and duplication.

Featuring sleeve notes by noted jazz improv writer Steve Day, author of Two Full Ears, Listening to Improvised Music and Ornette Coleman: Music Always, both published by Soundworld, the CD is just over an hour of the Birds in full throttle flight. Tracks include old originals such as Honorary Degrees (for Maggie Thatcher) and Susan Sontag to new compositions such as Furlongs Dash and Myrtle's Dream, itself part of an epic suite, "Ideas For Modern Living".

Fans of this steaming jazz-rock improv group will be able to order from this website from February onwards. The band will be promoting the CD live at venues in the SW, starting at Totnes in May. Watch the Bird Architects page on the website for full details of the itinerary.
